വെളുത്ത സ്വര്‍ണം 
വെളുത്ത സ്വര്‍ണം എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ലോഹമാണ് പ്ലാറ്റിനം. സ്വര്‍ണത്തെക്കാള്‍ വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള മൂലകമാണിത്. ലോഹങ്ങളില്‍ ഏറ്റവും വില കൂടിയത് പ്ലാറ്റിനമാണ്. രാസപ്രവര്‍ത്തനശേഷി വളരെ കുറവായതിനാല്‍ ഉത്കൃഷ്ടലോഹം എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. സ്വര്‍ണവും വെള്ളിയുമാണ് മറ്റു രണ്ടു ഉത്കൃഷ്ട ലോഹങ്ങള്‍.
White gold 
Metal which is known as white gold is platinum. It is more costlier than gold and costliest of all metals. Since the chemical reaction rate is very less it is known as noble metal. Gold and silver are other two noble metals. 
കോപ്പറിന്റെ നാശനം 
ചെമ്പു പാത്രം വായുവുമായി സമ്പര്‍ക്കത്തില്‍ വരുമ്പോള്‍ ചെമ്പ് വായുവിലെ കാര്‍ബണ്‍ ഡൈഓക്‌സൈഡും ജലവുമായി പ്രതിപ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ച് വസ്തുവിന്റെ  ഉപരിതലത്തില്‍ കാര്‍ബണേറ്റിന്റെ ഒരു പച്ച നിറമുള്ള ആവരണം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു. ഈ പച്ച ആവരണം ചെമ്പു പാത്രത്തിന്റെ നാശനത്തിനു കാരണമാകുന്നു. കോപ്പര്‍ കാര്‍ബണേറ്റിന്റെയും കോപ്പര്‍ ഹൈഡ്രോക്‌സൈഡിന്റെയും മിശ്രിതമായ ബേസിക് കോപ്പര്‍ കാര്‍ബണേറ്റാണ്  (CuCO3. Cu(OH)2) പച്ചനിറമുള്ള ഈ ആവരണം
Corrosion of copper
When a copper vessel is exposed to air for a longer time copper reacts with carbon dioxide and water in air to form a green coating basic copper carbonate on the surface of the object. The formation of this green coating on the surface of copper vessel corrodes it.
Green coating is basic copper carbonate (CuCO3. Cu(OH)2) which is a mixture of copper carbonate and copper hydroxide.
